Jose Balmori is an applied economist whose work lies at the intersection of health economics, economics of crime, development economics, and law and economics. Specifically, he uses econometrics methods and field work to infer causality on various public policy issues concerning the questions above. He is the associate dean for undergraduate studies and an associate professor in the Anahuac Business School at Anahuac University in Mexico City. He is also an academic affiliate and an external consultant for several national and international organizations.
